And…DONE(ish)!
Tomorrow (Monday) is my final chemo treatment!
We are so ready to be done! My white counts have been borderline but stable, and we don’t have any reason to think it’s going to be delayed. I have one more day in the infusion center, 3 more days of exhaustion, and then we’re free. I’m so excited this break came just in time for Christmas and New Years. We’re headed out of town for the holidays, and it can’t come soon enough. Talk about cabin fever!
We won’t have much time to resume normalcy- my surgery is scheduled for mid January. So the fun will continue, but honestly it can’t be worse than chemo. The recovery time from surgery is long, and then radiation will follow. But progress is progress! Around the time of surgery I will find out the cancer’s response to chemotherapy. We are praying fervently for a 100% complete response.
